Detroit- Freedom Fridays: Stop The Water Shut Offs!
Weekly Protest To Demand a Moratorium on Water Shut-offs in the City Of Detroit
Join us for a rally at the Spirit Of Detroit statue and go on a short march to demand an end to water shut-offs. Thousands of people are living without access to running water in Detroit. It’s clear the assistance programs are not working because they don’t address the overall problem of affordability. We demand an immediate implementation of the original 2006 Water Affordability Plan so no one will get shut off and money will still flow into the system. Water is a human right–no family should have to live without water! The 2006 Water Affordability plan provides a practical solution to this problem.
